How PCS Is Funded
Paul Cuffee School is a non-profit organization that is funded by the State,
the City of Providence and through grants and charitable donations from
individuals.
Because state and municipal funding does not cover 100% of the school’s
multi-million dollar operating budget, the Office of Institutional
Advancement annually seeks public and private sources of grant funding in
excess of $1,000,000 to cover the cost of maintaining facilities, internet
access and telecommunications, educational equipment and instructional
technology, books and resources for the school’s library media centers,
enrichment programs like the arts and music, remedial services like
tutoring, after school and summer programs, and professional development
activities to keep our faculty and staff at the top of their game. The
school’s annual giving campaign provides the essential extras that our
students have come to anticipate as rites of passage, year after year.
With the need for a unified campus to improve operating efficiencies, create
and share access to gymnasia, playing fields, assembly spaces and science
labs, the school is inviting charitable gifts for its capital reserve and to
an endowment for its future.
